In times of shrinking budgets community development and building departments are being asked to do more with fewer resources.  Forward-thinking jurisdictions are using state-of-the-art Web and Cloud technologies to help their staff work smarter and give their citizens faster turnaround times and transparent self-service options.

Please join us for a discussion to learn about four of the best practices that jurisdictions are using to reduce permit-processing time and get happier constituents.

  • Deploy integrated review cycle methodology – how to create an integrated review process that cuts processing time.

  • Create standardized repeatable processes – how to develop processes that are based on prescribed workflows.

  • Engage citizens and stakeholders early and often – how to automatically share information across departments, agencies and with the public.

  • Empower your users – how to keep pace with changes in your jurisdiction and give your staff the power to tailor the system according to their job role, without calling IT.

Celebrating Education Technology Innovators
in the 2011 Converge YEARBOOK

(Click here for the nomination form)

Final Day to Nominate!

Deadline for submissions is today at midnight - July 18, 2011

The Center for Digital Education would like to spotlight those inspiring individuals in education who have raised the bar through the use of technology. Too often these unique individuals must toil long hours and combat skepticism at every turn to see their ideas reach fruition. Once implemented, their efforts become best practices for others to model and follow. This Converge YEARBOOK is about getting these thought leaders the recognition they deserve.

We want to hear from you! Who are the digital education pioneers? Who is driving change that is impacting educational outcomes where you live?  Let's get them on stage and celebrate their efforts and impact.

We are looking for nominees from all strata of the education landscape. Presidents, superintendents, teachers, professors, instructional technologists, principals, CIOs, journalists -- the list has no bounds. What is important is their impact on digital education.

Please nominate the person or group you believe deserves recognition. A team from the Center for Digital Education will evaluate the nominees and feature those selected in the YEARBOOK.

Evaluation Criteria: Nominees will be evaluated based upon the following:

  • Body of work over the past two to three years to improve digital education
  • Impact of those efforts on local, state and national scene
  • Utilization of technology to achieve results
  • Creativity and initiative to make change
  • Display of leadership to drive change
